Andreina Phelan, LCPC

Pronouns she/her

I am a bilingual Latina therapist (spanish and english), originally from Caracas, Venezuela. I moved to Chicago, IL, in 2014 to pursue my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling.

Being both an immigrant and a parent allows me to deeply understand the challenges of navigating multiple identities, expectations, and cultural pressures. These experiences shape my culturally sensitive approach to therapy and deepen my commitment to creating a space where you can feel understood and supported. My therapeutic style is compassionate, approachable, and collaborative.

Education and Training

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, which I earned at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL in 2017. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in my home country at the Universidad Católica Andres Bello, Caracas Venezuela in 2009.

My work is strength-based and trauma-informed. I incorporate cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic psychotherapy skills. Mindfulness is also incorporated into my work by supporting others in becoming more aware of their own internal states and surroundings.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and have advanced postgraduate training in perinatal mood issues.
